From sampling to grinding your samples, Terrascope has the ability to provide you with a full range of services. Here the example of Chateaubleau, a Gallo-Roman city SW of Paris, France. Samples were taken on site by Sabrina Save in different archaeological contexts, floors and hearth features mainly, in October 2024. The samples columns were 50cm long and required custom-built containers for impregnation. Ten micromorphological thin sections were produced in total to document the stratigraphy at the site. Their analysis in the following months by Sabrina Save will provide informations on site formation, feature function, construction processes and abandonment phases of the archaeological site.
